Team 17 and Digital Eclipse have announced a content update for Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition. It seems the remaster will soon be joined by a handful of other classics from the series.
On social media, it's confirmed that a content update in "early 2025" will add the following games to the Anniversary Edition:
- Worms (SNES)
- Worms (Mega Drive/Genesis)
- Worms World Party (Game Boy Advance)
The game currently includes Worms Armageddon (PS1) and Worms Armageddon (Game Boy). This content update will turn Anniversary Edition into more of a retro Worms collection, rather than focusing on just one title.
It's not made explicitly clear if this update will be free of charge, though as it's described as an update rather than a DLC pack, we're inclined to think it will be. If so, this will be a big win for fans of the series, and either way, it's always good to future-proof more classic games by putting them on modern platforms.

Great but then why bother with a physical release in a few months? Either bring the physical out the same time as digital, or bring it out after you've done the extra content. This middle ground makes no sense
Sick ๐ worms world party was ace on ps1 is the blgba one similar or is it basic compared?
PS3 version of Worms 2: Armageddon is still the best version, with the possible exception of the original Amiga Director's Cut (which I still have in the loft alongside an A1200).
There's SO little difference in Worms for SNES/Mega Drive. Slightly more of the screen is seen in Sega and the sounds are a bit different. I don't really understand why you'd want both ๐
@sanderson72 I am very envious, I lost my A1200, 500+ and the Amiga CD when I left home, never got over it
I have to agree the Amiga version is my all time favourite!
Please, PLEEEAAAASE add the PS1 version of the original Worms. So many happy memories.
Played Worms Armageddon a lot back in the day, on my first PC actually... a lot of fun it was, especially with friends. The Baseball Bat + Low Gravity combination was the coolest most satisfying way to punish your opponents ^__^ Oh and I still remember the voice when the Holy Bomb exploded saying "Haaaalelujah!"... fun times!
Alas I don't think I'd have the patience to play it nowadays, not more than a few levels anyway, for nostalgia's sake. Good luck to the ones that still do, though, get a bunch of friends around you and have fun!
If they are doing this, how are they not including the one where it all started?
The Amiga version is still the best one.
"watch this!" Blasts self into water with bazooka
BRILLIANT subtitle
No buy, unless it will include the original Amiga/DOS version.
